Alice and Jasper are racing through the forest. I can feel, through his thoughts, the joy her laughter brings him. I watch through his eyes as he attempts to tackle her. She twirls, out of reach. He growls, but not in anger or frustration. It's desire, lust, need. Three more attempts to capture her, all thwarted. She leaps in the air and, with a graceful back flip, pounces on him. They crash to the ground, bodies pressed together.... I shut myself out of his mind. It's everything I wish I could do with Bella, but know I'll never be able to.
