Hello all! I have no idea why this came to mind when I saw the word blanket was this weeks challenge. Maybe it's because I know someone who resembles what Jo might have looked like when she was little. Maybe it's because I'm a mom. I'll let you be the judge. This is my first Drabble for the E/O Challenge and my first story on FanFiction and I had no beta- Reviewers be gentle. :)Penny
Words: 142 I swear I tried to get it down to 100 but after a million rewrites 142 was the best that I could do. Besides there's always next week, Right?
Disclaimer: I own nothing, but if I did, Sam would be shirtless alot more. ;)
Spoiler Warning: Abandon All Hope; Episode 5-10
Rated T for a bad word, it's just a little one but still.
" Honey?" No answer.
"Jo…" Ellen began to tremble as Jo lay heavy beside her. Memories played in her mind, a life in fast forward. Baby Jo with open, wondering eyes looking up at her the first time. Jo, as a toddler throwing herself in her daddy's arms and sleeping with his old leather coat as a blanket after he died. Her defiance as a bratty teenager and her strength as a capable adult. Jo died without complaint, her daddy would have been proud. Ellen let her grief wash over her as she kissed her daughters hair.
"I will always love you."
She gathered all the strength she had left when a hellhound huffed on her cheek.
"You can go straight back to hell you ugly bitch!"
She closed her eyes when Jo's finger gave under her own.
