Matt Mello friendship, just a moment I think they would have.

I sometimes wonder why he follows me. He doesn't question my judgement or intentions, he just follows.

Every time I ask him why he has the same answer and every time I laugh at him. It's just to keep face, and to stop the tears from rolling down my cheeks. He is the only person in the world who could ever say that sincerely to me.

Other people have said those exact words and it meant nothing. But he speaks them without a pause, without breaking eye contact, his voice doesn't hitch. He stares at me with fierce determination and says, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world,

"I trust you,"

And then he smiles. He smiles and I know he means it. He smiles and I laugh.

He asks.

I answer.

He laughs.

I smile.

But it doesn't hurt me. It doesn't matter that he laughs. I know the laughter is fake. I know he believes me.

I know because, he trusts me too.
