"My luck, personified." Balthier complained lightly, dodging Ba'Gamnan's weapon.
"Such is the life of a sky pirate." Fran agreed.
"Hardly fair, but who am I to complain?" Balthier pushed lightly on her shoulder. "Be gone, Fran. I will meet you on the Strahl."
"Are you certain, Balthier?"
"I wouldn't have said it were I not certain." Balthier assured her. He parried a blow and Fran took off with the speed only she could summon.
Balthier winced as Ba'Gamnan's weapon hit him. "Hurt, Balthier?" The bounty hunter snarled, smiling a cruel, feral grin. Baltheir snorted.
"Is that the best you've got?" He retorted. Ba'Gamnan hit him again, and this time Balthier's knees gave out. He fell to the ground, his vision blurring. "…That… the best.. you've got..?" Everything went black.
The sky pirate Balthier was brought to his execution, but they never managed to execute him. Halfway through the long list of Balthier's crimes, a Viera rescued him.
"It's about time, Fran. I was starting to think you were actually going to let me die."
"There were things that had to be in order for this rescue to take place. I feel that it won't be so easy next time as it was this time."
"Was it as easy this time as it was the last time?"
"It was not."
"Then it stands to reason that my chances are getting low…" Balthier looked out the window of the Strahl to where Ba'Gamnan was preparing for the chase. "…and the hunt begins again."
