I thought of you
Alice sat on the widow seat staring longingly out at the front yard as dark gray clouds hung in the sky. The boys had left the day before for hunting and some male bonding. Jasper had been hesitant to go with them but after Alice had insisted that he go to get closer to the family he left with them, somewhat reluctantly. It was the fist time they had spent apart and Alice found herself eagerly awaiting his return. Slowly rain started to fall splattering the window and wetting everything it touched. Alice smiled fondly at a memory of Philadelphia on a rainy day when the rain brought her Jasper. She sat watching the rain then a noise pulled her attention away. She sat up with her head cocked to the side and sniffed the air. A bright smile graced her face when the back door opened. She all but bounced in her seat as the footsteps traveled through the house then when the door to the living room opened Alice flew out of the seat and wrapped Jasper in a tight hug. "I've been waiting for you," she said into his chest as she breathed his sent in, his wet cloths soaking her.
"You seem to do that a lot," he said with a chuckle as he wrapped her in a hug. "Are you alright? You felt very anxious," he asked worriedly.
"I'm fine," Alice said as she buried her face into his chest. "I just could not wait for you to get back."
Jasper leaned down kissing the top of her head and whispered into her hair, "I couldn't wait to get back. I brought something for you."
"You did?" Alice asked as she looked up at him.
Jasper cocked his head to the side "you seem genuinely surprised."
"I didn't want to spy."
Jasper brought one hand up trailing it along her cheek leaving a wet trail "you know I wouldn't of minded."
"I know," Alice said with a shrug. "Now, what did you get me?" She asked as she bounced on the balls of her feet.
Jasper smiled at her enthusiasm as he removed his other arm from around her waist and brought it up in-between them. Alice sucked in a surprised breath and stared happily at the large bright yellow sunflower he held in his hand. "I saw it and thought of you," he said shyly.
"Jazz," Alice said reached out and softly stroked the petals. "That's so sweet, thank you." She then took the flower out of his hand and wrapped her arms tightly around him.
Jasper wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on top of her head again, "Anything for you darlin'."
