This is a little song/poem I wrote in honor of Tomoe Hotaru, the most tragically mysterious of the Senshi. Obviously Hotaru does age, and rather sporadically, but hey, a little poetic license, if you please. :)

Disclaimer: I don't own Hotaru or anything related to Sailor Moon or the planet Saturn or the comma. All of these are borrowed.

How many times can you be reborn the same way?

How many times can you live a life in just one day?

And can you grow older forever

if you never began to age?

Well the twilight's always shadowed,

and with morning comes the sun,

and the silence never changes

when a new world is begun.

And again I'll lead this life,

and again I'll fight this fight,

and the fireflies come out at night.

How can you torture a girl who's given up feeling?

How can you hand to one child both destruction and healing?

And will these questions find an end?

And will I never know

why the midnight's always darkened,

and there's always heat in sun,

and the struggle never changes

though a new world is begun?

And again I lead this life,

and again I fight this fight,

and the fireflies come out at night.

Saturn lies in wait until the breaking of the day.

And the glaive is always sharpened;

The messiah is at hand,

and destruction's round the corner

as they give us one last stand…

Why must I love these people I have to destroy?

Why must they lighten my bleakness with spirits of joy?

I'm at peace with what's within me,

but at war with what's in them -

And the seas are always churning,

and earth turns to see the sun,

and there's always tears and laughter

when a new world is begun.

So again I'll lead this life,

and again I'll fight this fight,

'cause the fireflies come out at night.
