"Hey, Syaoran?" Sakura asked quietly.
"Hmm?" he answered.
"Can I… ask you something?" she said hesitantly.
"Sure. What's on your mind, Sakura?" he said encouragingly, seeing her discomfort.
"Well… mmm, I'm embarrassed," she admitted.
"Don't worry," he said immediately. "I'll listen to anything you say. And I won't laugh or judge you," he promised.
"Well… I thought I should… uhh… so, I've been having these dreams lately," she began, closing her eyes.
"Go on," he said, stroking her hair lightly.
"About you," she continued, keeping her eyes tightly shut.
"What happens?" he asked softly, frowning and taking one of her hands in his.
"…Remember when you went to Hong Kong?" she asked, and he understood straight away.
"I won't ever leave you again," he promised, letting her rest her head on his shoulder.
"But your… your family. Don't you miss them?" she asked, snuggling close to him.
"Well, yeah. But that's okay. You know why?" he said, pulling her backwards gently so they were lying down on her bed instead of sitting on the edge.
"I think so…" She smiled. "Remind me," she said, finally opening her eyes and looking into his.
"Because I love you." And then he kissed her.
And just like that, all her doubts melted away. It was all okay. Because Syaoran loved her.
A/N: So, for some reason, this was exceedingly easy to write. I just made myself write a title, then the story came all on its own. Reason why I'm writing a CardCaptors fic in the middle of the night (Australia time)?
Because I can't let Star Wars get more stories than CardCaptors and overtake its place as 20th most popular fanfiction category on this site. And I've recruited myself for the cause because I'm good at spontaneous story writing.
