Angel watched Cordy pace up and down the hospital corridor in which they sat. He smiled. He'd never seen her so anxious before. "Baby, come sit down."
She stopped pacing long enough to turn to him. "I can't. I'm too nervous," she told him before returning to her relentless pacing.
"So am I," he admitted.
It was in that moment that the hospital door opened, revealing a nurse carrying a small bundle in her arms. She placed it in Cordelia's arms. "Meet your new daughter," she told them softly before stepping back.
Angel gently pushed the pink blanket back, revealing a dark-haired, dark-eyed little girl. She stole his heart completely in an instant. "She's perfect," he whispered.
"Yeah, she is," Cordy nodded as a tear fell down her face.
And suddenly all the waiting, all the worry had been worth it for this very moment. They finally had their little girl. And she was theirs. Forever.
