Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to look past the imperfections.

"You deserve better than me!"

It was a normal argument between Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks Lupin. Even though they were a married couple, Remus sometimes didn't know how to act. Remus was a werewolf. He had just come back from being gone for a week. Tonks was mad that he had just left without telling her where he was going, or when he'd be back.

"Where have you been?" Tonks demanded of her husband, again.

"Away. For my problem." He muttered the last part.

"Remus!" Her hair turned from orange, to bright red. "Why?!?"

"Because." He said flatly.

"Well, that's not a good enough answer!" She shot back. "You're being completely unfair to me! I care about you, and I want to help you!"

"Well you just can't."

"I'm your wife, and I want to help you! Remember Remus, we're married!"

"Dora." Tonks had agreed that he could call her that, opposed to her maiden name.

"Remus, you think it's all about you."

"Dora, I do this for you!"

"Well. I. Don't. Want. It!"

"Dora, it's unsafe."

"Are you going to do this every month for the rest our lives? I don't think I'll be able to handle that." Tonks turned her hair long and blue, and plopped down on the couch.

"Dora, I just want you to be happy."

"Well, I just want my husband to realize I'm perfectly happy just the way he is."

"But I'm dangerous." Remus sat next to her. Tonks remembered stories she'd heard about his years at school.

"First, I'm an Auror. Second, it wasn't too dangerous for James, Sirius, Peter and Lily?" She looked at him quizzically.

"They were my best friends, and had helped me my whole life."

"Well, I'm your wife, and I want to help you for the rest of our lives."

"I guess so."

"All I want is for you to be happy."

"Remus, being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. If you're waiting for that, you'll never be happy. Being happy is when you've decided that no matter what, nothing matters, and you're not going to let it bother you. It's when you have friends and family who care about you, and want you happy, and well, and when you care about others."

Tonks took his hand in hers.

"Lots of bad things have happened to you, and I understand that you want me safe. But what about your safety?"

"Thank you, Dora. For knowing what I need." Tonks smiled.

"So you're happy again?" Tonks looked up into his eyes, and changed her hair to her favorite bubblegum pink.

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Good. I have a question for you."

"Okay. Go ahead."

"What do you think about kids?"

"I think kids are great. I remember when Harry was born. James, Sirius and I were so excited, and Lily beamed."

"That's good."

"Why do you ask?"

"Well," Tonks took a deep breath. "I'm pregnant."
