Are You Going to Greenwood Fair?

Are you going to Greenwood fair?
Oak, beech, maple, willow, and pine
Remember the King with the Silver hair
Mighty he stood, that King of mine

Mighty and wise our King made a plan
Oak, beech, maple, willow, and pine
Marched into battle grim with man
Mighty he stood, that King of mine

On to battle, the Silver King went
Oak, beech, maple, willow, and pine
On the battlefield our number were spent
Nobly he fell, that King of mine

He will live in our rhymes and our tales
Oak, beech, maple, willow, and pine
The peoples in mourning, the princes wail
Sleep now his soul, that King of mine

Are you going to Greenwood fair?
Oak, beech, maple, willow, and pine
Revere now the King with the Golden hair
Mighty he stands, this new King of mine.

Author's Note:
I was listening to the song, Are you going to Scarborough Fair the other day and decided to make my own LOTR version of it. This is, of course, about Oropher with the Last Alliance. He is the "King with the Silver Hair" and of course, at the end, Thranduil, his son, is the "King with the Golden hair." It can be sung with the tune of Scarborough Fair if you feel inclined to do so. Hope you enjoy this.
