A/N: Long-time-no-see, eh, ladies? Well, I was in the mood to be writing something and since I'm still hashing out WCA with Gaelic, I thought I'd practice a little. I'm not entirely pleased with how this turned out…seems like too much information is missing, but when you only get 100 words to work it out, sometimes you just gotta hope the message comes across. It's not as self-contained as I'd like, but I guess I'm rusty. Since I wasn't feeling the pet request, I decided to go with angst. Hope you like it, 88Ivories.
He touched Dean's shoulder. "You couldn't have known."
Dean winced, but didn't pull away. "But, I should've. I should've."
"How? We both thought it was dead." Sam lowered his voice, "You think dad would've done any different?"
"Don't," Dean growled, jerking away. "You don't get to do that to me."
Sam sighed. "He would've killed me, you know."
Dean turned to look at Sam over his shoulder. "Yeah, but he was just a kid. A kid. I could've…"
"Could've what, Dean? He'd already turned. There was no other choice. You did the right thing."
"Yeah? Well, doesn't feel like it."
