Monte stood outside of the local Dunkin' Doughnuts. Lucy had agreed to meet him that morning for coffee and doughnuts. Monte self consciously ran a hand through his hair for the billionth time that morning. He really liked Lucy, and he didn't want her to not like him. The sound of heels caught the Brit's attention. Monte looked to the left and there, was the object of his affections strolling towards him.

"Hi Monte." Said Lucy with a smile.

"Hello Lucy. May I say you look dashing this morning?" Said Monte happily as he held the door open.

"Thanks. So do you." Said Lucy as she strode through the open door.

Monte and Lucy got their coffee and doughnuts and sat a table near the window.

"So Monte, how have you been lately?"

"I've been doing well. I've found an apartment of my own. I still haven't found anyone to marry me though. I don't have ten thousand dollars to pay Jeannette to marry me."

"Why do you still need someone to marry you? Haven't your debts with Cecil and Dante been cleared?"

"Yes, but I can't go back to England, so I need to get my green card."

"Oh. I see."

Monte looked at Lucy for a moment.

"Would you consider marrying me?"

Lucy blinked. "I...I don't know Monte. I really didn't want to marry you the first time around. I agreed to it because I had too."

"I see." Monte sighed. He had a feeling she would say that. "Would you do it as a favor for a friend?"

Lucy sat in silence for a moment. Finally she said quietly," I don't know Monte. I'll have to think about it. How long do you have to get your green card?"

"Oh a few months, so no pressure."

Lucy breathed a sigh of relief.

"So how has our friend Viv been since the robberies?" Asked Monte with a clever change of subject

"She's been great. Her business has really been booming lately."

"I bet it has been. Has she planned anymore robberies?"

"I don't think so. Two has been enough for her. Her business is popular enough as it is."

Monte laughed. "So how have you been Lucy?"

Lucy shrugged. "Same as always."

Monte and Lucy watched the people pass by outside for a moment.

Finally Monte asked, "Forgive me for asking, but do you plan on being a waitress all of your life?"

"No, of course not! I've gotten several requests to do shows featuring my abilities as an escape artist." Answered Lucy, slightly indignantly.

"That's wonderful Lucy. Are you planning on having Viv rob those too so people won't stare at you?"

"No. I've been practicing, and I think I can do in front of people."

"I'm proud of you Lucy. Do you need me to come over and stare at you to make sure?"

Lucy snorted. "No, thank you very much. I'm confident in my abilities."

Monte stared at her in disbelief.

"Fine, that can be our next date if you want." Said Lucy once she saw Monte wouldn't take her word for.

Monte smiled. "Excellent. Staring at you is just my perfect idea of a date."

Lucy snorted and rolled her eyes. Lucy and Monte continued to make small chat for another few minutes. When Monte looked at his watch, he realized it was definitely time to go.

"I'm sorry Lucy, but I really must be going." Said Monte as he stood up.

"That's alright. I should probably be going too." Lucy stood up as well.

"So, are we on for your place, say, Tuesday night?" Asked Monte.

"Sure Monte."

Monte leaned across the table and gave Lucy and quick kiss, then left the Dunkin Doughnuts. He was so glad the date had gone as well as it had.
