About to turn seventy, Temperance Brennan finally decided to retire. Her eyesight wasn't what it once was and somehow she had become tired of working all the time. Everything had changed.

Preparing to leave, her eyes lingered on the best places…mostly places he had been. Where they kissed, where he said he loved her.

A faint smile stayed on her lips. She missed him, the healthy amount. She lingered on the best moments and remembered that he'd left her something very important.

Parker leaned in the doorway, patient. "Ready?"

She nodded, and left the office for the last time.
