Drabble – Set - 200 Words

The stage was set, plans had been made and the two mischief makers could hardly contain themselves waiting for the curtain to rise.

The class Aristotle was giving involved each student to go up to a table, open a small box and give a speech about its' contents. Cassander was the next to speak but before he could start, lunch had been called and the scheming had begun.

Aristotle noticed that two of his students were late getting to lunch, raising his eyebrows when they appeared flushed and grinning from ear to ear. This was not a good sign.

After lunch Cassander approached the table and prepared to open the mystery box. Aristotle strolled silently behind the two trouble makers and put a hand on each of their shoulders.

A look of horror crossed Cassander face as he opened the box and a snake crawled towards him, his deathly fear of snakes a known fact. He swallowed loudly and started to talk with a shaky voice.

A voice whispered in Alexander and Hephaestions' ears.

"I can hardly wait to see what is in the box when it is your turn." Said their teacher watching the color drain from their faces.
