Sex and Buffy in the City

Summary: A talk between Buffy and her cousin.

Warning: I don't know; maybe language and innuendo somewhere along the way.

Timeline: post-'Chosen' BtVS, anytime for Sex and the City.

A/N: Not sure where the idea came from; maybe from thinking about Chris Noth (who played Mr. Big).

Catching sight of her prey, Buffy called out, "So there's my famous cousin, the one and only Carrie Bradshaw!"

Carrie rushed to hug her younger cousin. "Knock it off, Buffy. You're embarrassing me."

At that bit of news, Buffy just laughed. She was kidding, right? "Excuse me? Aren't you the one who writes about her love life for all of New York City to read?"

Rolling her eyes, Carrie corrected Buffy, "Not just my love life. I just write about things that interest me that deal with the relationships between men and women, or women and women as the case may be."

"I know you get paid reasonably good money for it, but I don't think I could live with the City knowing about my tragic love life," Buffy said with a shudder.

Carrie looked around her for a good escape route if needed, then decided she was a dead woman if Buffy reacted badly – no matter what she did to get away. After all, her cousin was the Slayer and could run in anything, even the insanely high-heeled shoes Carrie was wearing. "Uhh, they kinda do, cuz," she admitted with a wince, waiting for the explosion.

Which wasn't long in coming. "What?!"

Pleading with her eyes for understanding, Carried explained, "Well, I was stuck for a column idea one week, and then I remembered what happened to you on your 17th birthday." She lowered her voice to whisper, "Of course I left out the supernatural parts, but it was titled 'When love turns to obsession, then to hate'."

Buffy's expression was still stony. However, Carrie still had all her limbs attached so she couldn't be too angry…right? "I can't believe you did that without asking me!"

"It had the most reader response of any of my columns – even to this day," Carrie tried to appeal to her cousin's ego – or compassion – whichever one got her out of this mess. "The women felt such a camaraderie with you, or more accurately your character. You helped a lot of them feel like they weren't alone. A couple even said it gave them the courage to go to the police to get restraining orders."

Sighing, Buffy grumbled, "You're making it really hard to stay mad at you."

"Good." Carrie breathed a sigh of relief. The worst seemed to be over.

An evil grin appeared on Buffy's face. "Waaait," she drawled. "I know how you can make this up to me, dearest cousin of mine."

"What?" Seemed Carrie relaxed too soon.

"Get me a pair of clubbing boots? You have some cool connections, right?" Buffy prodded.

Carrie knew this would be a small – albeit expensive – price to pay. "I guess it's the least I can do. By the way, the girls are dying to meet you."

Now Buffy was all smiles as she looped her arm in Carrie's. "Coolness. We can have a crazy time tonight before I have to fly out tomorrow."

Laughing, Carrie dragged Buffy towards one of her favorite shops to get the 'punishment' out of the way. "Sure hope that you can come back before another 8 years pass."

"Me too. We'll have to see how the Council business pans out. Let's get shopping!"

A/N: There you go. Just a little quickie between the girls.
