"Bones, case time!"
Brennan groaned. It was not case time. It was two in the - she looked at the clock on her desk and felt ashamed of herself.
"Come on, Bones. Nine o'clock, wake up. No… don't tell me you slept here. I hate it when you do that. It makes me want to give you a coffee. I don't have a coffee. If I can't give you a coffee, everything is wrong."
Brennan frowned at him. "I don't need a coffee, Booth. I'm fine. I didn't sleep here-"
"Yes, you did. You have some paper stuck to your face. And your hair's all… sticky uppy." Brennan groaned again and tried to flatten it out. "Ok, I'll go get coffee while you… tame your hair." Booth left, grinning widely.
Brennan felt annoyed. Why couldn't he let her sleep? Why did he let her sleep-? He had been with her, last night. He hadn't talked her out of working… she 'tamed her hair' and picked up her phone. Six missed calls.
"Damn it, Booth!" she jumped up from her desk and went to find him, while dialing 'Andrew'.
She found him whistling innocently, now carrying two coffees. He changed direction towards the door out. Brennan grabbed her equipment, still after him.
She hung up, distressed at the no answer and shoved her cell in his face once she caught up with him, blocking the way out. Now the whole team was watching, Sweets included.
"Sixteen missed calls… now, that's obsession." Booth observed as he handed her her coffee. She dropped it on the floor.
"Ouch!" Sweets said. They ignored him.
"You knew I had a date last night. Why didn't you remind me?"
"Wait, what?" Booth was surprised. "How does that fall under me? It's your date. I'm not in love with Hacker." He defended himself.
Angela 'aahhed'. They ignored her.
"See! You did know! And I'm not in love, Booth. I'm dating. You're my partner! You're supposed to help me with things like that!"
"No, I'm not supposed to do anything, really. Though I can advise you to brush your hair."
"Grr…" Brennan rushed her fingers through hair desperately. "Why not, Booth? Is it Hacker? Don't you like him?"
Hodgins made a noise. They ignored him.
Booth was quiet. Brennan felt uncomfortable but he said "Of course I don't like him, he's my boss." Before she could feel too bad.
"I'm still angry." She made clear.
They were quiet.
"Ok, I don't like Hacker."
"I don't like Catherine." Brennan admitted.
Cam gritted her teeth and pulled a face. They ignore her.
"What? What does that have to do with anything?"
"Well, my assumption is that you're protective over me. I'm protective over you, too Booth. Don't you think that I get jealous too?"
Angela's mouth fell open. They ignored her.
Booth struggled to speak. "But-"
"No. What do I have to do, spell it out for you? Yes, I am attracted to you! I get jealous! I would like to go out with you."
Angela's mouth fell open wider.
"You would?" Booth asked. He was confused now.
"But I can't-"
"Because we're partners-"
Booth looked away and was suddenly aware of the entire lab's presence.
"Oh…" he said.
"Oh." Brennan echoed. They both looked at each other and ran out the door. As soon as they were out of the team's sight they crashed into each other. Brennan kissed Booth; a surprised Booth kissed back.
