I do not own the Teen Titans, nor do I own the rights to the song "Answer Me, Oh My Love."

Just a quick one-shot inspired by, once again, the incomparable Nat King Cole. For those of you who do not know him, you don't know the voice you are missing.

Answer me, oh my love,

Just what sin have I been guilty of

Tell me how I came to lose your love

Please answer me, sweetheart.

Beast Boy looked at the girl. He couldn't believe it. After all this time, all this heartache, here she was in front of him. And there was no feeling that she had for him. She looked at him as if he were a stranger.

You were mine, yesterday,

I believed that love was here to stay

Won't you tell me where I've gone astray,

Please answer me, my love.

How could this be? This was the girl he had pined for. The girl that he had fought the Titans for. The girl he had risked death for. He had abandoned his friends in order to see her. They were in the middle of a battle and he had turned his back on them, for her.

If you're happier without me,

I'll try not to care.

But if you still think about me,

Please, listen to my prayer.

How could there be no recognition of him in her eyes? How could the love that he felt for her not be returned. All these months, the work, the agony, the turning away of others, just for her. Waiting for this moment when she would return to him, accept him, love him.

You must know, I've been true.

Won't you say that we can start anew

In my sorrow now I turn to you,

Please answer me, my love.

And Tara Markov turned away and walked into the hallway, mingling with the other students, until she disappeared in the distance.

Answer me, my love.
