Okay, this was written today out of sheer boredom and a crazy idea. I had a half-hour to kill between classes, and I had Billy Joel's song "We Didn't Start The Fire" stuck in my head... as well as the Star Trek TNG parody of it. And "Psycho" has been on my brain a lot lately, so... I came up with this little parody. It's the "Psycho" story told in a parody of "We Didn't Start The Fire" - sing along if you like and enjoy!

Psycho, Bates Motel
Slow descending into hell
Marion Crane on the lam
$40,000 in her hand

Phoenix cops on her tail
All the way to Fairvale
Driving in a rainy night
"Bates Motel" in neon lights

Norman Bates, cabin keys
Twelve cabins, twelve vacancies
Stuffed birds upon a shelf
Mother isn't quite herself

We didn't start the horror
The Hitchcockian thriller 'bout the mother-killer
We didn't start the horror
But when we are gone, Psycho will live on and on…

A knife is stabbing Marion Crane
Blood rushes down the drain
Norman cleans up with a mop
Shoves the car into the swamp

Sam Loomis, Lila Crane
Searching for Marion in vain
Arbogast, private dick
Wising up to Norman's tricks

Stabbed and murdered on the stairs
Meeting Mother's evil stare
Sam's confronting Norman now
Lila sneaks into the house

Mother's bedroom, Norman's toys
More on Mother's little boy
Mystery killer, blood spiller
Deadly fellow, fruit cellar

Skeleton, Lila's stunned
Norman Bates is now his mom
Evil smile and evil eyes
Mother wouldn't hurt a fly!

We didn't start the horror
The Hitchcockian thriller 'bout the mother-killer
We didn't start the horror
But when we are gone, Psycho will live on and on…

We didn't start the horror
The Hitchcockian thriller 'bout the mother-killer
We didn't start the horror
But when we are gone, Psycho will live on and on...
