No Other Choice

Another Indian burial ground disturbed; another vengeful spirit unleashed. But this one was different. This one was more powerful; more pissed-off.

As they doused its bones in kerosene it raised its bow, aimed at Sam and fired.

For Dean there was no other choice. He pushed his brother out of the way and leapt into the path of the oncoming arrow. Moments later the ancient shaft had buried itself deep in his shoulder, its brilliant-white feathers stained in blood.

Sam knelt beside his brother, easing his sweat-drenched head onto his lap.

"Jerk," he murmured.

"Bitch," Dean whispered, sinking into oblivion.
