Love and Loss

Andromeda thought the worst night of her life was when she was thrown out of her home.

She was proved wrong when her cousin Sirius was convicted.

Andromeda thought the worst night of her life was when Sirius was convicted.

She was proved wrong when he died.

Andromeda thought the worst night of her life was when Sirius died.

She was proved wrong when Ted had to go on the run.

Andromeda thought the worst night of her life was when Ted had to go on the run.

She was proved wrong when he was murdered.

Andromeda thought the worst night of her life was when Ted was murdered.

She was proved wrong when Nymphadora was killed — by Andromeda's own sister.

Andromeda thought the worst night of her life was when Nymphadora was killed.

She was proved wrong on what should've been the best night of her life:

when baby Teddy was delivered to her..

Andromeda knew the worst night of her life was when Teddy was delivered to her..

because his face was perfect blend

a painful reminder

that she was faced with every day, every minute, of her life

of all she had lost:

Teddy had Andromeda's mother's ears,

Teddy had Sirius's eyes,

Teddy had Ted's smile,

and Teddy

looked just like Nymphadora.

The worst night of Andromeda's life, she knew,

was yet to come,

for if – when – she lost her Teddy

she would lose them all.

Again.

Her life was nothing

but an endless cycle

of love and loss.

A/N: I didn't mean to make this a poem, but it had a rhythmic feel to it, so I went with it. Hope you enjoyed.
