I always wanted to make a fanfic of this – this was one of my favourite episodes and I really wanted to be able to convey Aang's thoughts and feelings. So, here we go.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything.

"Where is my bison?" I exclaimed, as my anger grew.

"I-I sold h-him. I didn't know it belonged to the Avatar!" The man whimpered. His excuse was pathetic – if I wasn't the Avatar, he still would've sold him?

Then, Toph suddenly spoke.

"You told them to put a muzzle on him!" she yelled defensively.

"YOU MUZZELED APPA?" I bellowed, and I lost it. My eyes and tattoos glowed. I was in the Avatar State.

"WHERE IS MY BISON?" I repeated, my brows furrowing.

"I s-sold him to a trader in B-b-Ba Sing Se. Please...We will help you however we can. We'll escort you out of the desert. We'll-"

He was cut off by the sound of his sand boat being destroyed. Stupid man. He was lucky it wasn't him. He backed away in fear, and I went to continue my destruction, when I felt a hand on my arm. I turned around. Katara.

She gently pulled me down and embraced me, not bearing to let go. I felt tears streaming down my face and I was still in the Avatar state. I glanced at her quickly, and she was crying too – which upset me even more. I floated back to the ground, tears still flowing. Sokka and Toph were staring at me. They were looking just as melancholy as me.

It hit me hard, as I left the Avatar State:

My Best Friend... was gone.

And that's it!

I really wanted to be able to get into Aang's mind – he's such a complex character and it's really interesting to try and decode him, as a person.

R&R, maybe?
