Mozzie and Alex watched as Neal pressed the end call button. Their friend looked, upset wasn't a strong enough word and devastated only showed up when Kate was around so it couldn't be that, but it was close. They'd have to come up with a new word for the emotions playing across the conman's face.
Neal nodded and put his cell back into his pocket.
"I thought he was supposed to be gone for three more days." Alex said, pouting because their entire heist had been planned around Agent Burke's vacation.
Neal nodded again.
"Well that's just typical," Mozzie said, "trust a suit to come home early without giving a warning first."
Neal shot him a look, both amused and exasperated.
"So what do we do now?" Alex asked.
"Might as well finish the heist," Neal said, "either way I'm going back to prison when he catches me again."
"Don't you mean if?"
"He's caught me twice already."
Mozzie scoffed, "The first time was a random screw up, hardly your fault, and the second time you practically let him catch you. Besides, you know him now. You know how he thinks."
"But he also knows how I think."
