E/O Drabble Challenge

Challenge word: safe

Length: 100 words

A/N: Wow! It's been so long since I've done this, I'd almost forgotten how! RL has been kicking my butt lately, I've had problems with my eyes and the muse has all but been declared dead. So I apologize for not being here to read and review but I haven't done much reading or writing lately, mostly because of the whole eye issue. I'm taking meds so I'm hoping it will clear up soon. And I'm still not reading any tags to the season five finale as I'm slowly working on my own. I'm sure I'm going to have some major catching up to do when I get finished with it.

This is a Wee/Teenchester fic. Sam is nine...remember when he was afraid of the thing in the closet? Yeah, this is it.

Sam stood at the edge of the bed, peering at the sleeping face of his older brother.

"Dean?" he whispered.

"Nuh?"

"I heard it again."

Dean didn't reply, only pulled back the covers, and Sam scrambled in next to him.

"Where's the gun Dad gave you?"

"I left it under my pillow."

"Not doing you any good there, kiddo."

"I don't need it."

"Dude, get your cold feet off me," grumbled Dean.

Sam withdrew his feet but pressed his face against Dean's shoulder, smiling sleepily. The only thing he ever needed in order to feel safe was his older brother.
