Choosing A Path
As Kirby looked into Bunny's eyes and told her that he would never forget their days together, tears grew in Bunny's eyes. She knew what had to be done. She closed her eyes and turned away as Kirby was drowned in the darkness around him.
"It was my choice. I had to" Kirby told Bunny with a frown on his face.
"But why darkness? Why not light?" Replied Bunny as the tears grew bigger.
"I'm not living in his shadow anymore. It's time to be my OWN shadow." The river of darkness overthrew him and he disappeared.
Kirby slowly walked away as his helpless opponent lay on the floor, barely breathing.
"I-it really is you, Kirby." Breathed the dark hooded figure on the floor.
Turning to face the organization member, "What do you mean?"
"Never have I-I seen someone f-f-fight with so much –"The organization member had obviously passed out. A dark portal appeared and pulled the member in.
"WAIT!" Kirby's mind was on every possible ending to the unfinished sentence. "I have to end this quickly." He started sprinting forward.
As Kirby ran to the top of the tower, what he saw was stunning. His gaze went from a collapsed Bunny on the floor to another hooded figure (obviously not an organization member) at the end of the room.
"You're finished!" Were the first word to come out of Kirby's mouth.
"…" The hooded figure said nothing.
Oblivion appeared in Kirby's hand as rage surged through him. His body was slowly becoming filled with hate as he realized who this figure was.
Kirby ran to Bunny, "What happened to you?"
"H-he chose light… he sh-sh-should have been good." She managed to mumble.
"That's why I chose darkness. One path, One destiny." Kirby, still filled with rage, whispered to Bunny.
"I-I don't understand."
"Like I told you a long time ago. The closer you are to the light, the larger your shadow becomes." Kirby put Bunny down on a soft curtain that hung from ceiling to floor.
As he got up and faced his old friend, "Now, let's settle this… FOR GOOD!"
