My Bloody Wedding

It was a monumental day. Bon Temps first night wedding and me and Bill's big day. The backyard at my grandmother's house was decorated with colorful wildflowers. The grass had been recently trimmed and a red carpet was laid out to serve as an aisle. Chairs were placed on both sides for people to sit. The seats were filled with people from Bill's past and my friends. A minister stood in front with Bill, Jason, and Lafayette on his left and Tara and Jessica on his right. Bill wore a black tuxedo, red silk shirt, and a black tie. His best man Jason and Lafayette stood at his side wearing a similar tuxedos and colors; though Lafayette's was more stylish. Tara, the maid of honor, and Jessica wore matching black dresses with red heels. People spoke in hushed tones went quiet when the 'Wedding March' began to play. Everyone stood and turned to see me being led down the aisle by Sam. I wore a flowing white silk dress. It was strapless and form fitting. My hair was up in a bun while the veil covered my face. Once we got to the front the minister asked, 'Who gives this woman to be married?'

'I do.', Sam said as he placed my hand in Bill's then took a seat in the front row. Bill lifted my hand, kissed it, then removed the veil. He fell in love with me all over again in that moment. I could see it in his eyes. I gave Tara the bouquet of white lillies I was carrying.

'You're breath taking.', he said in a whisper.

'So are you Bill.', I replied.

'Let's begin.', the minister said and everyone took their seat. 'Repeat after me. I, Sookie take you William.'

'I, Sookie take you William.', I said happily.

'To be my wedded husband.'

'To be my wedded husband.'

'To have and to hold from this day forward.'

'To have and to hold from this day forward.'

'For better or for worse.'

'For better or for worse.'

'For richer or for poorer.'

'For richer or for poorer.'

'In sickness and in health.'

'In sickness and in health.'

'To love and to cherish.'

'To love and to cherish.'

'Till death do us part.'

'Till death do us part.'

People started laughing and smiling at this as Bill was already dead or rather undead. The preacher continued and Bill exchanged his vows to me. We didn't exchange rings. The real reason for the ceremony was for my friends. I knew Bill loved me and I knew I would never love anyone else.

'Now is there anyone who feels these two should not be married speak now or forever hold your peace.'

I looked st Eric but he just smiled. He finally understood he could never have me and just wanted me happy.

'Now by the powers vested in me by the state of Louisiana I now pronounce you Mr. and Mrs. William Compton. You may now kiss the bride.', the preacher finally said.

Bill leaned down and kissed me sweetly. We headed to the reception hall to a chorus of cheers. We danced and drank the night away. It was the end of one life but the beginning of a new one.

After everyone had left Bill looked at me. 'Are you sure Sookie?', he asked. 'I'm sure.', I replied keeping the fear from my voice. 'I want forever with you William Compton.' He hugged me tightly then kissed me. The kiss deepened and then stopped. He looked into my eyes and I saw his fangs. He went for my throat. I vaguely remember moaning with pleasure as he drained me of life and then filled me up with his blood. I awoke the next night in the casket with Bill next to me. He was watching me intently. I looked down and saw my wedding dress was covered in blood. My blood. I just smiled as I leaned over and kissed him.

'Now we have forever.', I told him.
