A/N! Look, I'm pulled between thinking Sam should blame himself for opening the Cage and thinking LBR (Little Bitch Ruby) should take almost all of the blame. Manipulation, the manipulated, (if you ask me) shouldn't be blamed. OK now that I've ranted and explained myself, (kinda) and wasted a lot of your time please, read on.

"It's not your fault you know." The words are abrupt and fall from the mouth of a pretty brunette who looks like she hasn't been outside since before the Ice Age.

"Huh?" was Sam's eloquent answer

"She tricked you."

So maybe the crazy chick did know what she was talking about.

"Deceived you."

She could shut up now.

"Lied. If she hadn't manipulated the voicemail Dean left you, you wouldn't have done it." she presses on.

"how do you know?" Sam asks, his voice dead, he's so tired of all of this

"I was there." her answer surprises Sam, makes him sit up and pay attention.

"What are you?" he asks.

"a little of this and a little of that. I have been watching over you since before you were born Sam Winchester. I would know. If it was all your fault. He says for me to tell you too, that your prayers never have fallen on deaf ears, merely ears that were incapable to do much of anything to help you." she whispers.

Dean comes into the room then, just as broken and beaten and worn as Sam. Cas is with him.

"Cas." the girl says with a nod and a smile.

"Lily." he smiles back, for which Dean gives him a strange look and then Lily is gone.

"Cas. Where'd she go?" Sam asks before he can tell his brain now would be a great time to shut-up.

"Where she belongs." he says and then he too, disappears.
