A/N: Well, hi! It's been a long time and my fingers are rusty but I managed to write something. Big thanks to B, who is a great beta :) If you're a Daniel/Vala fan I recommend her stories - spacegyspy1
The scientist in me
I run my experiments and he's there.
Colonel O'Neill has become somewhat of a constant in my life. Which means, he's always in my lab. And I like that.
I didn't at first, because it was strange and terrifying and overbearing. I never knew why he came, stayed, and never talked he always broke something. Can you imagine your boss always looking over your shoulder? Not technically my boss, but still... Annoying is the word.
Eventually we became friends.
We taught each other to smile again, to trust, and to tease. Pretty soon we had our own language, one that couldn't be understood by many.
And then we became more.
I love my science, but I love it more when he's around.
Oscar Wilde once said "The advantage of the emotions is that they lead us astray, and the advantage of science is that it is not emotional." He never met the scientist in me.
