Author: Girl Who Writes
Word Count: 488
Summary: Saturn waits in pain, the grim phantom of duty sapping away all that the child is.
Notes: Written for a contest on LJ's sailormoonland community - other than in the word 'the', you could not use the letter 'e'; I had to break out my thesaurus to get this finished and even then, it's rather eccentric (but I did tie for second place!)
Disclaimer: The characters of Sailor Moon belong to Naoko Takeuchi. I make not profit from this fan-based venture.
Saturn, the first casualty of the Moon's domination. How you wish to spurn the Lady's authority, but you cannot; you carry the chains bearing the symbol of the Lady's command.
(The Lady abhors Saturn and the dark gift It must carry. You wish for the stupor of immortality, that burns the mind of Saturn, that draws out the Duty you inhibit from it. And the Lady basks in Its agony.)
The Lady laughs and calls out the law, ignoring the pain cut into the child's form.
"You must bow to the Ivory Moon, my fair darkling, for you cannot abstain from the control of the Lunar hand. You will stay in the shadows, crying out for a downfall that the Ivory Moon constantly combats; with no growth, with no mortality. I know you burn for your duty, but it will not occur whilst I stand with the soul of this galaxy in my own hands."
(The Moon – nothing but ivory and rock, cold and with that void of passion, of vivacity. For you, it is agonizing.)
And so, Saturn waits in pain, the grim phantom of duty sapping away all that the child is.
And the Moon laughs.
