So, ObsessiveCompulsiveValkyrie has challenged me with fifteen prompts about the Zack/Aerith pairing, and I accepted it.
I gotta get these done by September 15th, so yay I'll actually update!
Please lemme know what you think!

Aerith groaned as the obnoxious ringing of her cellphone woke her up. She brought a hand up to rub her eyes and noticed her nose was still runny. Was it humanly possible to cry in her sleep? She didn't think so, but she may have just been proven wrong. Oh well, what was she going to do? Cloud just broke up with her that evening, wasn't she allowed to be a little upset?
She was so wrapped up in her thoughts she almost forgot about her phone that was ringing at . . . a quick glance at her clock told her it was one in the morning.
"Hello?" She snapped as she answered the phone, her voice colder and more annoyed than she intended.
"Aerith? Hey!" It was Zack. Aerith sighed. He was fully aware that Cloud just broke up with her, and he couldn't let her sleep? "Can you . . . uh, come over to my place and help me?" He asked.
Aerith rolled her eyes. Yes, Zack was one of her best friends, but these middle of the night calls to help him out after a bimbo did something to him or his apartment was grating on her nerves, especially on a night like this.
"Get handcuffed to a bed again?" She asked.
Zack chuckled, which for some reason just irritated her more. "Erm . . . not exactly. Just, get here quick. You'll see." Then he hung up.
Aerith felt her eyes begin to water again, but she forced the tears back. She'd save them for Zack. He can deal with depressed her after she helped him out with whatever the hell went wrong.
Zack read the text from Aerith on his phone. He grinned before typing back a response.
Come on in.
Zack heard the door creak slightly as it opened, and he leaned against the couch as Aerith slinked in. Her hair was a mess, her makeup was running, and she was still in her pajamas, which were beyond wrinkly - Zack couldn't comprehend how she could stand being in that. He always loved looking pristine . . . and so did the ladies.
"I didn't dress up for you, sorry," Aerith said sarcastically, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"And yet you're still the most beautiful girl in the world," Zack said, smirking. He pushed himself off the couch and made his way to her as she began to sniffle.
"Zack, why did you wake me up in the middle of the night right after I got dumped? You're not handcuffed or anything," Aerith asked, completely ignoring Zack's statement.
Zack had crossed the room by now, his long strides letting him move casually and efficiently at the same time, and now he was directly in front of Aerith. He chuckled at her comment as he said, "To do this."
Before Aerith could do anything, Zack's calloused hands were cupping her face, and his lips were against hers. She struggled for a moment - how could Zack be kissing her? They've been best friends forever, that was it. Nothing less, nothing more. But now . . .
She found herself kissing him back, wrapping her arms around his neck. This was different, weird, but not bad. Not bad at all. It felt good, it felt right. Just as her hands started to get tangled in his hair, he pulled away.
He stared at her, breathless. She stared back. "Cloud made a mistake dumping you," Zack said, smirking. "But I'm so glad he did."
Aerith was going to ask him when he became so bold with her, but he had already closed the distance between their mouths for a second time.
And there's numero uno.
