A/N: I know some of you might still be waiting for an update on Accidental Truth, and believe me, so am I. I can't seem to be able to write anything even remotely good! It's really frustrating!
Anyway, I'm not quite sure what this is. I just remembered talking to my stepdad about the episode Escaped, and how Jenny couldn't have reinstated Gibbs without telling Tony about it, or at least hinting about that he was coming back. Because I mean he was demoted, and it's kind of a big thing. So this thing came alive, and I'm not quite sure what to think about it. I'm not really happy about it, but I've written worse! So please tell me if it sucks. ^^
Disclaimer: Ha! I wish!
Coming back from visiting Gibbs in his basement, Jenny wasn't suprised to see Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo still sitting at his desk. He sat leaned back, his arms crossed, staring at his keyboard seemingly lost in thought. He didn't seem to notice her watching him. She was just about to clear her throat when he suddenly started talking.
"It's impolite to stare, you know."
Shaking her head, she couldn't help but let out a small smile, knowing he had known she was there all along.
"Oh, you would know DiNozzo, wouldn't you?" She said, coming to stand in front of his desk.
Unfolding his arms, Tony laughed at that, fully aware that he often got carried away while staring at what he found to be a beautiful woman. Sombering up though, he looked at her with a serious expression.
"You talk to Gibbs?"
Looking away, she sighed. She wasn't quite sure what to think of the conversation she had just had. It was true what she had told Gibbs, she didn't want him to come back, knowing he still wasn't quite himself. But on the other hand, a part of her had still missed him the four months he had been gone. She didn't know what to feel, so instead of answering Tony's question, she asked him one in return.
"Do you want him to come back, Tony?"
Used to people wishing for his former boss's return, Tony was suprised to hear the slight insecurity in Jenny's voice.
"Well, he is the boss."
Rolling her eyes at his answer, she fixed him with a stare.
"I'm not your team, Tony."
Sighing, he looked to his left, his eyes landing on the small desk behind Agent Lee's. He almost laughed when he noticed an abondoned cup of coffe standing on it. Some things never change.
"I," he hesitated, not quite sure how to express what he was feeling. "I'm not quite sure he knows what he's doing."
Nodding, she looked out the window.
"Yeah, I sensed that too."
"So, he is coming back then?" Tony asked, sensing this was were it was going.
Looking back at him, she sighed.
"I don't know."
"But you will reinstate him if he decides to come back?" He continued.
She looked him in the eye, wondering if she was making the right decision.
Tony nodded, standing up to gather his things.
"It's probably for the best, otherwise Abby might kill you."
She chuckled. She was all too aware of that fact.
"But, you're okay with it?"
Coming round his desk to stand in front of her, he answered her in the only way he could.
"He's my boss."
