Blood soaks the surrounding rocks as he drifts in and out of consciousness. He knows he should be dead by now, vaguely wonders why he isn't, and then passes out once more.

A second later, he's awake, but the corners of his vision are blurring and fading to black. He knows this is the end. Shinra have finally taken care of their little loose end. His years of service mean nothing to them. Now he's a liability, not an asset, and that's the difference between life and death.

His eyes close and stay closed.
