Start of Forever
She sat alone at the counter, waiting for him. He would show up soon, she had seen it.
Although she was alone at the counter, there were a number of people seated at tables in the tiny little diner. She was in Philadelphia, for that is where she had seen their meeting.
Suddenly, she felt the presence of another vampire in the small restaurant.
She spun around on the stool, looking towards the door. Seeing him, she immediately jumped down and walked towards him. His eyes were dark enough for human eyes to overlook, but she could see the faint hint of red in them. He was thirsty. She stopped right in front of him, looking up at him.
"You kept me waiting a long time." She said, smiling at him.
He was surprised, needless to say. And then, he ducked his head like a good Southern gentleman and said,
"I'm sorry, ma'am."
Still smiling, she reached out her hand and unthinkingly, he took it.
And together, hand in hand, they walked from the diner, into their future.
You might have noticed, I stole a few words from the book, but I was trying to keep it as close to the book as possible. Please review!
