Wow, this is my first Glee fiction, ever. *claps* Welcome aboard (:

Finchel is my OTP. Takes place after regionals.

It started with just one drop. Then another, and another. The rain pelted down onto the tarmac and bounced off the grey, flat desert. Rachel raised her face to the heavens and smiled slightly.

She had just gotten back from regionals, and although it still stung that they didn't come away with the win, when Finn said those three, stark words to her, I love you, it was as if nothing else mattered anymore. Finally, there was a chance for them; Finn and Rachel – to be together. And that was all she wanted.

"Break a leg."

"I love you."

There were footsteps behind her and she turned, seeing the man there himself – Finn. Her beautiful stranger.

"Rachel."

She smiled and ducked her head, "Hey Finn."

He lifted his hand out to hers, their clothes sticking to their bodies. Rachel was almost worried about her white shirt – but it slipped her mind as Finn smiled at her. The rain soaked everything around; trees, the ground and them.

She lifted her hand and slid it into his; he twirled her around for good measure as she giggled. Her eyes grazed the distant school buildings and the people scurrying around with umbrellas. Briefly, she closed her eyelids as she recounted what had happened just before they sung at regionals.

"Do you really mean it?" she whispered.

"Mean what?"

"Do you really love me?"

He turned towards her and slid his arms around her waist, drawing her close so their noses were barely touching. Her heart was beating at their proximity and the heat that radiated from his hands, his breath smelt like peppermints.

"Of course I do."

And then he kissed her, as the rain came down like little pieces of hope. Everything had come to this, each and every piece of lyrics that passed through their lips, all their experiences together. Maybe this was what they were destined for all along.

"Two strangers learn to fall in love again. I get the joy of rediscovering you."

This made me smile; writing it.

Hopefully it won't be the last.
All my love, Zoe. x
