Word Count: 300 exactly
Summary: Castle has a nightmare – in what world would he not like grenades?
Warnings: Kinda cracky

Castle gazed around the table curiously. After a beat, he realized he was dining in his Halloween costume.

Well, stranger things had happened…

"We'll be hitting Lilac atmo in a few hours," a blonde man – Wash? – told him happily.

Atmo? Okay – he was in space. A space cowboy? Well, stranger things had happened… he just couldn't name one off the top of his head.

"Good. I have a hankering to relieve some people of some hard-earned cash."

That's what space cowboys did, right? The statement came easily enough.

"Good thing that's the plan then, sir," the dark-skinned woman on his left said evenly.

Brown eyes bored into him from across the table. The girl. "Your little sister will be tagging along," Castle informed the doctor. "Having a bit of insight would make this a mite easier."

He got up and left before Simon could argue.

In the hallway, he met a man absolutely overwhelmed with weapons. Were those grenades?

"Jayne, how many weapons you plan on bringing? You only got the two arms." Jayne was a silly name for a guy, Castle reflected.

"I just get excitable as to choice- like to have my options open."

"I don't plan on any shooting taking place during this job." Well, that was a disappointment. He wondered who came up with that plan.

"Well, what you plan and what takes place ain't ever exactly been similar."

"No grenades."

Richard Castle shot up in his bed, breath coming out in a gasp. He was back in his bedroom. Streetlights, bookshelves, awards… things were back to normal. Okay. Castle took a deep breath; he let it out slowly and counted backward from fifty. Certainly not a nightmare he'd ever like to have again; what kind of world would it be where he didn't like grenades?

I don't own Castle (besides the book and 1st season.) I don't own Serenity (well, I have it in every format known to mankind, but that's about it…)
