The Guise of Perfection is One She Should've Seen Through

She was ohsosick of it

Because it nevereverever stopped

(And she thought that

God must not exist

Because otherwise, he would've

a n s w e r e d

her prayers, right?)

And e v e r y w h e r e she went

She always heard,

"Hi, Reagan!"

And the words,

M a d i s o n "

Were ohsoused that

She has them

m e m o r i z e d

But he-

Him in all his p e r f e c t i o n s –

He could tell them apart

(And that was all it took

To make her

L o v e

And when she got so

With e v e r y t h i n g

He always listened

(And her mind was full of

And her heart was full of

And all was well)

And she thought everything was

And that he was

And she may have been a Tomas, but she

w a s n ' t s t u p i d

And she should've wondered

Why he showed up

ohso s u d d e n l y

And she should've s e e n t h r o u g h

His disguise

Because perfect

Doesn't e x i s t

(And everyone knows that)

He always told her he

Wasn't a C a h i l l

(She thought he was ohsolucky)

And she

B e l i e v e d h i m

So why did she find

A letter

With the Janus crest on it

At his house?

Just like

E v e r y t i m e

She believed

But she c o u l d n ' t ignore it anymore

When it was her name on the paper

And curiosity o v e r w h e l m e d her

So she read it-

E v e r y t h i n g –

And found out that

The whole time

He was just a

S p y

(And her heart

S h a t t e r e d )

She couldn't c o n f r o n t him about it

(So much for Tomas bravery)

But she did

S a b o t a g e

Everything he'd worked for

And she left with her head held high

She n e v e r told anyone the whole story

(They'd never believe Madison Holt anyways)

And p r e t e n d e d

She had lost interest in him

She couldn't help but think that

He must've felt s o m e t h i n g for her

Because he a l w a y s knew who she was

(And no other guy ever did.)

T h e n a g a i n,

It could've just been

Part of his

P e r f e c t i o n

(But perfection is a

Li e)

She never found out if it was real or not.

The explanation of this one: In a very random, unexpected place (waaaaaaay after the 39 Clues hunt ended), Kurt and Madison met. They began dating; he was the only one who could tell her apart from Reagan. Madison fell for him hard and fast; she thought he was perfect. But it turned out that he was a Janus spy, and that the whole time they dated, he was spying on her (since she was a Tomas). She sabotaged everything he had done, and left him. But she still loved him, and couldn't help but wonder if he actually felt the same for her, since he was the only person who could tell her and Reagan apart.

So, was it real? Here's a hint: it's in the text.

Anyways, what do you think? Personally, I don't think this is as good as my other free verses; but I still think it's okay. The idea of pairing Kurt with Madison is from Miranda Cahill of Conte (though I don't think she was actually serious about it; haha). Please, please, PLEASE review and tell me what you think!

Thanks much!
