I was inspired to write a songfic xD This is all coming out of my butt, but I hope you like it! 3 So the songfic is a Lost Odyssey one, cause I played it last night :D It's Bodies by Little Birdy

Bodies

Oh follow me here
Oh follow me there
It's my kinda place
It's my kinda place

Kaim had lost track of all the places he had been. All the faces he had seen. All the people he had loved, and watched die. Sometimes it was too much for the silent soldier. He just wanted to rest, to go to his own eternal rest.

But it would never come.

I've given up on everyone it seems
Do I take hold and take our memories?

He knew this. He knew how much he had lost, but their faces were fuzzy. If he could not remember, who would? Who would be there to hold the memories of the ones he had loved so dearly?

Bodies on the outside baby
Bodies on the inside baby

Their bodies, bodies without faces.

He could remember holding his little girl, his wife, their unmoving corpses. Similar to the corpses scattered around this long field. It used to be so green and beautiful, now stained with blood. He looked upon his comrades dead bodies, though he felt nothing, they were only his comrades for now.

I'm sick of feeling this way
My body's ok
You only give what you can
To my emotions

How would all their families react? Knowing they would never come home, and yet, he, Kaim, who had nobody to wait for him or mourn at his demise that would never come. He was unscathed. Not a scratch or bruise on him.

Bodies on the outside baby
Bodies on the inside baby
Bodies on the outside baby
Bodies on the inside baby

The bodies. Bodies of fathers, sons, husbands, brothers. Never to return. They were imprinting themselves in his mind. He could almost hear their voices, asking why? Why did someone with nothing get to return? Why did their children have to be alone? Their wives alone?

Calling out
Calling out for you
Calling out
I'm calling out for you

They were calling him, everybody he had lost. That man had been cracking jokes around the campfire last night. That one told them all the wars he had survived. That one over there had a pregnant wife. Kaim wanted to call out to his wives, his children, his friends…

Bodies on the outside baby
Bodies on the inside baby
Bodies on the outside baby
Bodies on the inside

Why were there so many? No matter how far he walked they were there. Arrows, stab wounds, magic, anything and everything that could kill a man had been used here.

Is it something I said
Is it something I said
There's a lock in my heart
There's a line down my eye

He felt liquid slide down his face as he walked, walked and remembered. All of their faces coming back to him.

I see the bodies lined up endlessly.

It felt like forever, he was walking forever through a field of death, a field once so beautiful, now tarnished with the curse of mankind. He needed to do something worthwhile with his immortality, but how? How? He had tried, he fought in battles, made families, and no matter what happened, there was death.

But he had to look to the living.

I have survivors to revive.
