"You have a beautiful voice," James stated to Alesha, after she sang Rule, Britannia! She blushed and looked at him. She looked surprised. "It's not a joke, Alesha," he said strongly but sweetly, as to not hurt her. She smiled and nodded.
"Thank you," her smile turned into a grin. "I really appreciate it. I've been practising all of my life. What about you, can you sing the song?"
"Oh, sure," he nodded.
"Well? I want to hear it, I bet it sounds nice." He cleared his throat and began to sing –
"When Britain's first at heaven's command,
arose from out of the azure main;
This was the charter, the charter of the land,
And guardian angels sang:
'Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves!
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves'."
"James, that was beautiful, I think? I don't know how to put it. It's really good!" she hugged and he sighed.
"Thank you, Alesha," he replied.
"You're welcome," she giggled.
A/N: Song prompt – Rule, Britannia!
Sorry about all of the 'nevers', that's just how it's sung.
