Ralph sighed as he removed Mr. Kent's clothes from the bottom of the elevator shaft for what seemed like the hundredth time. Ed was stuck repairing the elevator yet again. You'd think a guy like Superman would realize what a dropped shoe could do to the inner workings of a machine. It was amazing that Superman hadn't had to rescue anyone from the Daily Planet's elevator considering the number of times he had broken it. Keeping the secret identity of Superman a secret was the least the maintenance staff at the Daily Planet Building could do for him considering he'd saved the lives of several of them from things that weren't a result of his own negligence at least once.

John hit rewind on the security tape for elevator three. When he got to the point where Kent started removing his clothes before flying off he hit stop. He then set the tape to record from that point. It was the least he could do for Superman since he saved his wife and son from that train wreck a while back. Earl, who sat beside him at the security desk made no comment as he did this. If it hadn't been for Superman he wouldn't be sitting here today. Keeping the man's other identity and therefore what little private life he had safe was his way of repaying him.

Steve noticed the suitcases stowed away in the Janitor's supply closet as he got his mop out. Perhaps he should tell "Kent" that his sister had a room for rent.

Funny. he thought. It seems that the only people at the Daily Planet who don't know that Clark Kent is Superman are the reporters.
