Too Precious

Summary: *2010 Halloween fic* Curse the bad luck of the Hellmouth. That's what Buffy is thinking. Crackfic!

Warning: I don't know; maybe language and innuendo somewhere along the way.

Timeline: season 2 BtVS 'Halloween'; all of the LotR movies.

Buffy was sure Willow and Xander conspired against her. That was the only explanation for her costume last night. She snickered. At least she had the pleasure of knowing neither of them got the costume they wanted either.

Surprisingly, it was Willow who had the idea of going as Lord of the Ring characters. The brainy redhead was quite the Tolkien fan – or so she claimed. Buffy thought it might have more to do with the yummy actors from the movies, though.

It was just the luck of the Hellmouth that all of the 'pretty' people were taken before Willow could get the costumes for the group. Unfortunately, it didn't deter her from her choice of genres.

And that is how Xander went as Wormtongue and Willow was the medium big bad, Saruman.

If that wasn't bad enough, Giles' old magick buddy turned them into their costumes. Buffy shuddered to think what could have happened if Willow hadn't gotten knocked out by one of her kids-turned-monsters immediately after the spell took effect. Saruman on the Hellmouth? Not of the good!

But now they were left with remnants of their costumes – and that was the source of Buffy's current predicament. It was a little annoying and funny when she got dressed that morning and cooed over her shoes.

However, it was really embarrassing – not to mention dangerous – while patrolling. She just couldn't stop herself as she watched her favorite stake turn to dust with the vampire. "Noooo, my precious!" she shrieked in a raspy voice.

A/N: Sorry, couldn't help this. Musie must have been on something when this bunny came about.
