Jade groaned. She had woken up with the flu. She had a fever of 103. Every muscle in her body ached. She also had the chills, was exhausted, couldn't stop coughing and sneezing and to make matters worse she had stomach problems as well including nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
The phone rang and she picked it up as soon as she saw it was Beck.
Beck could instantly hear that something was wrong.
"Jade," he asked, "Are you sick"
"I dink id's the flu," she told him.
Jade tried to go to sleep after taking some crappy medication that didn't make her feel any better but she couldn't sleep. She continued to throw up and her head was pounding so much she thought there was a steel drum band playing in her head. She hadn't felt this band since she was in 5th grade. She tried to sit up but she was dizzy. The door opened and she saw Beck walking in.
"Sit up," he said gently helping her to sit.
He gave her a cup of chicken noodle soup and a straw holding the straw to her lips.
"Sip it slowly Jade," he told her gently
She did as he instructed her to do. She soup felt sooooo good against her throat.
She felt a pang of pressure in her eyes. He noticed that and gently started to rub her eyes. She had started to feel better.
"Dub't you have shool," she asked him.
"Skipped it," he said, "You're more important"
She had an accident.
"Oh my GOD," she exclaimed.
"Come on," he said, "Lets get you cleaned up and into the bath. I'll wash your clothes afterward."
"Beck (coughing fit) you don't (sneeze) hab to clean bi clothes (coughing fit)"
He rubbed her back
I know I don't have to," he said, "but I want to. You're my girlfriend. You're my future wife. You're my soul.
Three days later Jade was feeling 100% better.
"I can't believe you did that for me," she told Beck.
"I would do anything for you," he said.
"But you could have gotten sick and you got in trouble for missing school," she said
"And your worth it," he told her
