I can't believe this day is finally here. I'm actually getting married today! I'm so lucky to have a guy like Gordo in my life. We've dated ever since high school and in just a few minutes we're going to be married! I'm really nervous since I didn't write any vows down so I'm just hoping that I'll know what to say when I get there.
So, it's finally time for the wedding. I don't think I've ever been this nervous before. Lizzie and I have been friends forever and we started going out in high school. We decided not to write any vows but just to speak from our hearts when we got there. That's probably why I'm so nervous. What if I don't know what to say and completely embarrass myself? I'm interrupted as my best man and close friend, Ethan Craft, comes in the room. "Hey man. Are you ready?" he asked me. "Yeah", I breathed. This is it. I go stand at the front of the church and Ethan stands beside me. The music starts playing and I see my good friend, Miranda, start to walk down the aisle. She smiles at me and I return the smile. Then, all of our friends and family stand up and I see the love of my life start to walk down the aisle with her dad by her side.
I'm actually doing this. I start to get nervous and hold onto my dad's arm tightly. As we get to the altar, he gives me away and then it's just me and Gordo. "You look beautiful" he says. I can feel myself start to blush. Then, the minister began to speak. "We are gathered here today to witness the union of David Gordon and Elizabeth McGuire. Now, I believe that the bride and the groom would like to say their vows. Elizabeth, would you like to go first?" "Uh…I guess" I said. What do I say? I look at Gordo as words start to come to me. "I can't believe this is really happening. Ever since we were kids, you've been one of my best friends. I always knew you would be there for me when I needed you and I still feel the same way now. I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of our lives making you happy. I know things won't be easy but I promise to love, honor, and cherish you till death do us part" I finished. I'm so glad that part is over.
I can't help but stare at Lizzie intensely. She's so beautiful. "David, it's your turn" the minister said. "Lizzie, I love you so much. You've been my best friend for so long. I can't believe we're actually getting married. I want to spend the rest of my life showing you every day just how much I love you. So, I promise to love, honor, and cherish you until death do us part. "May I have the rings?" the minister asked my nephew who was the ring bearer. He then looked at me. "Do you David take Elizabeth to be your lawful wedded wife?" "I do" I smiled. And do you Elizabeth take David to be your lawful wedded husband?" "I do" she smiled back at me. "So, with the power vested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." the minister finished. Lizzie and me then shared our first kiss as husband and wife.
I can't believe I'm actually married! Gordo and me then walked out of the church where a limousine was waiting for us. I hug my parents and brother goodbye before Gordo and I get in. As the limousine pulls away, I smile and look at Gordo. This is the start of the rest of our lives.
