"You really wrote this?" Lily asked and she laughed.
"Do you really think I'd lie about this?" James asked her, and Lily giggled again, though James didn't mind. The giggle filled up his heart, and he felt lightheaded with the love he felt.
"You really did love me," Lily smiled and she went back to the little book she held in her hands.
James and Lily were currently up in the Head Boys dorm, and Lily was reading a diary James had written. But it wasn't just any diary. It was a diary full of entries James had made about his undying love for the red head who was currently reading it.
"December 10th," Lily read aloud. "That was yesterday." Lily looked up into James' eyes, and he smiled.
"We've been going out for about two months now, and I still can't believe Lily finally fell for me," Lily read the entry aloud. "Everyday it's still crazy to me that she finally see's what she's been missing. I've been trying to get her for years, but suddenly it's all worth it. I know I love her, and I'm going to tell her tomorrow. She needs to know. I've loved her for as long as I can remember." Lily stopped reading there, and she looked up at her boyfriend. "You love me?" Lily murmured, and James nodded his head.
"Very much." James confirmed, and his eyes shone brightly, Lily decided, with the love he held for her.
"I love you, too, James." Lily murmured. "Thank you for sticking with me, I'm sorry it took me so long." She smiled slightly, and James just laughed.
"Of course, babe." James then leaned over and kissed her.
"But really these ones from fourth year are hilarious!" Lily exclaimed. "You were star struck over me."
"Maybe," James smirked at her, and wagged his eyebrows. Lily burst into giggles at this.
"Think you're cool, don't know?"
"Oh I know I am." James said with a small smirk, and Lily laughed again.
"Oh I love you!"
"I love you, too." James told her and he leaned over for another kiss.
"I had no idea that you kept a journal," Lily then said. "I think it's very sweet. You can give them to our kids one day."
"Our kids?" James hadn't missed her little slip up, but when James pointed it out to her, she blushed.
"Well… you know, if we ever-" James cut her off.
"I'd love to marry you and be the father of your children." James told her. "I'd love that very much."
"Good," Lily said shyly, and she ducked her head a tad, but James just lifted her head up with his finger.
"Don't be shy, Lils," James told her. "I love you, and I'd love to marry you."
"Are you proposing to me?"
"Think of this as a pre-proposal," James told her and Lily giggled.
"Okay," She smiled. "Well I've finished the diary, now."
"It's not a diary," James quickly corrected her. "It's a journal, or a book of thoughts."
"A book of thoughts?" Lily raised her eyebrows.
"Yup," James nodded.
"Oh okay." Lily giggled, and then she kissed him. "Thank you for tonight, love."
"It was my pleasure, love." James kissed her again, but this time it lasted a bit longer, and left Lily gasping.
"Mm… I love you, Jamie."
"I love you, too, Lily."
