title: he will never fail himself
summary: go away, go away.
author's note: UGH YES. FINALLY A HARRY POTTER FIC. :D
draco stares into the water below him. he cries out, but no one hears.
he jumps in, and instead of drowning in water, he's drowning in her.
he is running for his life when he hears her scream. he wants to save her, almost more than he wants to have himself, but then he's running because he's supposed to be a death eater, isn't he?
(he's not supposed to love her, now is he?)
luna smiles at him, but he can't breathe and he can't see and he's not in love with her, he can't be in love with her because he can't love, he can't. he can't. he can't.
he looks at her, kisses her full on the mouth in the privacy of them. of hiding and sobbing and she's pulling him into her. but then he's running away because he's a malfoy and she shouldn't love him.
"but i love you anyway," she says.
he throws up.
"leave me, please. please, please."
she laughs, "don't you know draco? i can't. i can't leave you no matter how much i try."
draco is the one to leave.
and she's off and married in five months and he cries and he cries because he's not in love.
even when he's away from her, he can see he is a failure at a malfoy.
and it hurts because he doesn't have her in the end, now does he?
