Ginny Potter stretched luxuriously on the bed. She turned over and propped her head on her arm and surveyed the sleeping man beside her.
Her eyes travelled from his incredibly messy black hair, to his eyelids, which covered startlingly green eyes. They traveled down his nose, which was very slightly crooked to his lips. With a small smile, she lightly kissed his lips. She trailed her lips along his jaw, to his Adam's apple. This time, when she kissed his lips again, he responded.
Harry wrapped his arms around her before rolling over to face her.
"I don't mind if you wake me up like that every morning," he said with a smirk.
Ginny rolled her eyes. "But that would require me waking up before you."
"I would have thought you would make sacrifices for me," he said with mock sadness, "To think, my wife loves sleep more than me."
"It's not my fault you kept me up late last night," Ginny insisted
"I don't remember you complaining. Or was it complaining when you screamed my name?" he asked with a wink
"You're quite full of yourself, aren't you Potter?"
Harry kissed her nose, before asking, "What do you want to do today?"
"Well, seeing as neither of us has work, I was planning on sleeping in…"
"Well, seeing as we are both awake, what else did you have in mind?" he asked
"Nothing really, as long as we spend the day together, I'm game for anything. Except cooking. If you make me cook, I'll leave you and run off to Malaysia with a Swedish ski instructor named Klaus." Ginny replied seriously.
"You see, that would be detrimental, as I would just hunt Klaus down, before castrating him and kidnapping you back. And anyways, how would Klaus work if you went to Malaysia, a tropical country? That isn't very considerate of you Ginny," Harry said, the corners of his mouth twitching.
"So no cooking?" Ginny asked.
"So what do you want to do?"
Harry smiled. "First thing first, I need to give you your New Years gift."
"But it's been a week since the New Year!" she insisted
"They were supposed to be ready for New Years, but the jeweler was busy during the season. So I guess they're your gift to celebrate the ending of the first week of the year. May the next 51 be as wonderful!"
Ginny rolled her eyes. Just because she was used to the ridiculous pretenses Harry made in order to give her gifts didn't mean she liked it.
Harry waved his wand, and a box wrapped in blue wrapping paper zoomed toward the bed from the closet.
He handed it to Ginny with a flourish.
"I don't understand why you buy so many gifts?" Ginny asked, holding the box in her lap.
"Just open it, Ginny." he insisted.
She opened the box to find…
"Oh Harry! They're gorgeous!" she exclaimed, holding up the ruby earrings. They were teardrops with small hearts at the top. The rubies and diamonds twinkled in the sunlight.
She immediately fastened the earrings onto her ears.
She gazed at Harry full of love on happiness, and knew that the year would be just as wonderful as the last.
Fluffy. Short. Link to pic of the earrings on my profile. Review Please!
