Franky isn't sure why Usopp doesn't flinch every time he's around. He can still remember the feeling of breaking the boy's bones with his hands and watching with sadistic glee when Usopp hadn't been able to hold back his screams.
But the long-nosed boy looks up to him now, for some God-forsaken reason. Franky finds himself stiffening subconciously when the sniper comes near his work area.
Usopp just leans down excitedly and asks what he's up to.
So he whips around and grabs Usopp, pulling him down into a bear hug with a huge grin across his face. His large hands ruffle the curly hair with nothing but affection and he can't help but think that he likes Usopp's laughter a lot more.
