A/N: A little idea that popped into my mind for some reason while I was trying to write a note to my boyfriend. It was a personal fail, but a professional triumph. XD

Remus and Tonks are just the most fabulous couple. I love them. In my mind, they are SO not dead. I'm just delusional like that, so it works.

Disclaimer: Nope. I own nothing. I just checked. It's all legit. ;)

Tonks sighed, twirling the quill around in her thin fingers. She chewed on her lip, and drummed her fingernails on the table impatiently. She was annoyed that this was taking such a long time. With new resolve, she put the quill to the parchment and began writing.

Dear Remus,

There's been something I've been meaning to tell you for a while now—

No, no, that wouldn't work.

Dear Remus,

I've been thinking about our relationship for a long time now—

No, that insinuated that they had a relationship. Tonks groaned in frustration. Why was this so hard?

Dear Remus,

I think by now you know how I feel about you. I think everyone in the Order does by now. I've never been the most subtle person in the world. I've had these feelings for you for a while now, and I've finally decided to act on them.

Tonks paused, re-reading her work. She couldn't seem to figure out where to go from here. She'd hit a brick wall, mentally. Sighing impatiently, she crumpled the parchment up again and threw it viciously towards the wastebasket.

She moodily grabbed yet another roll of parchment and flattened it out, dipping the quill in her signature purple ink.

It's obvious that I like you. I'm pretty sure you like me too. Maybe we should just get this whole thing over with and—

Absolutely not.

Dear Remus,

I love you. I've been thinking about it endlessly, and I know for certain that it is true. I don't care if you don't feel the same way about me, I just couldn't go another day without you knowing.

Tonks let a noise of disgust escape her throat. That sounded like something from a sappy romance novel. And a really, really bad one at that.

She gave it one last try. Scribbling furiously, she finished in just a few moments. She stood back to survey her work.

Guard duty's been changed from 9:00 to 11:00. Same place.

See you there,

She sighed sadly, thinking wistfully of the day when she'd be brave enough to say what she really meant. Ignoring the pangs of sadness radiating through her body, she sealed up the envelope and attached it to the small screech owl that the Order had been using.

She watched it fly off into the horizon, one small tear slipping down her cheek.

A/N: Aw, that was sad. Oh well, we all know it has a happy ending…sort of. Please let me know what you think!
