Sarajevo Winter Olympics 1984 aka Bolero night:

After the endless round of interviews, photos, and autographs and of course the medal presentation, the now Olympics gold medallists just wanted to escape. There was only one place they could go were they would not be disturbed.

They had headed back to her room. They would have used his but he knew his room mates would be there. Jayne had been lucky; she had been given one of the few single rooms. This was there place to hide, to get away from things.

When they entered her room, Chris made sure that he locked the door. This was there time; he did not want any interruptions. What they had just achieved on the ice was something no other skaters had done before, perfect 6.0 across the board. He looked across at his partner sitting on the edge of the bed, her head in her hands.

"Jayne, sweetheart, are you ok"

She looked at him unshed tears in her eyes "Yes, no, I don't know"

Chris went and sat beside her, wrapping his arms around her "we did it" he whispered

"I know."

"Are you happy?"

"Yes. I'm always happy when I'm with you. You know that"

Without saying a word Chris leant forward and placed a soft kiss on Jayne's lips. A kiss that meant to so many things 'well done', 'I'm proud of you', 'you're beautiful' and most important of all 'I love you'. Jayne placed a hand on the side of his face, pulled back from the kiss and looked Chris in the eyes. They had made a promise a long time ago that things wouldn't go down that route. They had seen far to many skating partnerships breakup because there personal life had got in the way.

Chris understood, after all he had made that promise as well, so he stood to leave. He knew that if things went any further there would be no going back and if things between them didn't work out, for what ever reason, there was a chance he could loose his best friend, and that was not something he ever wanted.

"Stay" Jayne said taking Chris hand.

"We made a promise" he reminded her.

"Just stay" Jayne said again, moving back on the bed making room for him "please"

How could he refuse her when she made that face at him? He took a deep breath and lay down on the bed next to her. They lay there wrapped in each other arms for the rest of the night. No words spoken, there was no need. This was a night they would never forget, what could be better than spending the night in the arms of your soul mate?

2006 and the first finale of Dancing On Ice.

The audience had gone, the lights had been dimmed and the studio was quiet. Jayne and Chris sat side by side putting there blade guards on after performing Bolero for the first time in a very long time.

Chris wrapped and arm around Jayne as whispered "we did it"

"I know" she whispered back with a smile, as there eyes met they were both transported back to that magical night in 1984.
