She stared at him in disbelieve. Where had the man gone to that loved her so much? Where was the man that promised to lay the world before her feet?

"Why are you doing this?" asked Isabel in a hurt disbelieving voice.

She had told him about her true self, what she really was. It was a massive mistake. She expected him to look at her in disbelieve maybe even calling her crazy. But she didn't expect him to end his relationship with her and to call her a threat to his world.

He had never been this way with her. Even when they had fought, he'd cave quickly because he didn't want her staying mad at him. She couldn't even remember a day that she had seen such behaviour from him. He had always been the man she fell in love with. A man with high morals and a strong mind.

He didn't reply to her question, only stared at her with cold eyes. She thought she saw disgust; it was too much for her, she whimpered.

"Lex?" started Isabel again. She wanted to reach out to him, but even before she could his body spoke of a defensive, closed off language, that didn't encourage human nearness.

Lex?" she asked again.

He turned away from her, and with a hard, cold voice he finally said, "Get out of here. I am giving you a lead of a few days. You should use the time usefully."

With that, Lex left the room, and left the door opened.

Isabel cried, after a time picked herself up and left her home of four years, without looking back. She had to get away, and look for her brother. Max always knew what to do.

She didn't know what was going to meet her in a few days time, when her time was up. She just had a feeling it wasn't going to be good.
