The grey sky had been threatening torrential rain for the last three days now, making the fog reign the muggle streets Lucius was walking in. The pedestrian houses decorated the infested scenery of a muggle village he would have never set foot into if he were to have a choice. But he was given an order by the one person who had owned him ever since he had finished Hogwarts; the person whose word was sacred and could never be ignored if living was part of hisplans. He clutched his left hand, in an attempt of ending the tingling in his arm. It was a constant reminder of why he was there in the first place and while there was a part of him who appreciated it, he would also rather doing this on his own, forgetting about everyone else and just focusing on his task.
His dragon-leather boots stepped on the doorstep he was looking for. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door and listened intently to any movement inside the house, praying the person he was looking for weren't home. To his disappointment, the door finally opened, revealing his very alert partner, who was holding his wand ready to attack the unexpected visitor.
"Put that down, Snape. It's me," Lucius instructed firmly, taking off his hood and arranging his silky hair with the palm of his hand.
"Lucius," he whispered. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Severus asked sternly, making his tone contrast with his polite words.
"There is something I need to do and I, as much as I hate this, need your help," Lucius explained quietly, holding his nose up high and trying to hold onto his quickly fading dignity.
Severus smirked pleasantly, savouring the moment where his fellow Death Eater -the one who, according to the Dark Lord, he had to learn so much of- begged for his help.
"We'll see. It may cost you a lot, dear Lucius," he said testing the waters and -most definitely- Lucius's patience.
"It already is," Lucius muttered under his breath.
Severus chuckled. "I'm listening," he said solemnly with a curt nod.
Taking one last breath, Lucius decided to said it once and for all, succumbing to the humiliation his cry for help entitled. "Narcissa wants me to dress up as Santa Claus for Draco's first Christmas so I need a costume."
