See? This is what happens when I watch too much Saw and read Alice in Wonderland, bad things happen. Basically, just a random story about the Mad Hatter transforming from "The Hatter" to "The Mad Hatter". Wrote this rather fast but I did put a lot of thought into it so hopefully this isn't too bad. I don't own Alice in Wonderland, the fabulous Lewis Carrol does! Please enjoy. :D
Everything is dark. Dark and different. This isn't the joyful, colorful place of Wonderland that Alice Liddell had been visiting since she was a child. A large wooden table sat in the middle of the dark grass, large twisted trees creating a sort of dome over the table. An array of mismatched china and tea pots were strewn about the dirty table cloth, shattered tea cups spilling the murky liquid out onto the already ruined table cloth. Unmatched chairs lined the table but only one held a body. A hunched figure sat in the shadows. The figure held its head within in its hands as if weeping. Cautiously, the ever curious Alice walked closer to the figure, her dainty hand outstretched toward it. "Are you alright?" She said as she placed her hand onto the being's shoulder.
The figure snapped its head up to reveal the pale face of a man. Dark circles set deep under his eyes like bruises; he looked exhausted. The man had dark, empty blue eyes which were partially covered by a choppy set of pale blonde bangs. "Alice…" the man croaked passed chapped lips, sounding as if he had not spoke a word for years. With a shaky hand, he placed his palm onto her cheek, sighing when he felt her warm flesh against his ice cold skin.
Alice gasped, the realization of the man setting in. "Hatter!" She surveyed his body quickly. Blood and mud covered his usually crisp, white shirt. Cuts and bruises were lined up and down his forearms, continuing on past his rolled up sleeves. Tears began to form in her eyes as she looked upon the man that had always been there for her. "Hatter…what's happened to you?"
He looked up at her, his eyes depicting fear. "Alice, you have to get out of her. Get out of Wonderland before it's too late." He then began to twitch, as if something from deep within himself began to take over. The Hatter jutted forward causing Alice to jump back in surprise. He looked at her, his eyes becoming blank. "I am so sorry, dear Alice." In a quick movement, he stabbed a rather large blade within her body. The Hatter wrapped his arms around her, the blade keeping them apart. Alice was stiff against him, screaming bloody screams of pain. "Forgive me, my dear for what I have done to you." Alice slumped against his body, her final deaths already gone. The Hatter cautiously laid Alice's body onto the ground, her blood seeping from her frail body. An uncertain, insane laughter bubbled deep within the Hatter's body. In a rush, the laugher echoed out of his body as a new being took over. The Hatter was long gone, the Mad Hatter had finally taken over.
